Advertising Policy
Last updated: 5 May 2026
Hub & Spoke offers text-link sponsorships on published sites. This policy explains how advertising works on the platform.
How sponsorships work
Sponsorships are text links that appear on published articles. Each sponsorship includes the advertiser's link text and URL. Sponsorships are clearly labelled and use rel="sponsored noopener" attributes for transparency and search engine compliance.
What we track
We track two metrics for each sponsorship: impressions (how many times the link was displayed) and clicks (how many times it was clicked). Both use the same cookie-free, privacy-preserving approach as our page view analytics—a daily-rotating hash that cannot identify individual people.
What we do not do
- No behavioural targeting or profiling
- No retargeting or remarketing
- No third-party ad networks, pixels, or scripts
- No tracking across sites or sessions
- No personal data shared with advertisers
Advertisers receive aggregate impression and click counts only. They do not receive any visitor data.
Advertiser responsibilities
Advertisers must ensure their link text and landing page:
- Are truthful and not misleading
- Do not promote illegal products or services
- Do not contain malware or deceptive redirects
- Comply with applicable advertising standards in their jurisdiction
Hub & Spoke reserves the right to pause or remove any sponsorship that violates these standards.
Site owner controls
Site owners control sponsorships on their sites. They can pause, cancel, or configure the number of sponsorship slots available. Site owners may earn revenue from sponsorships via Stripe Connect.
